About Cozumel Insider |
|
Since the early 90's the creators of Cozumel Insider have watched the tourist based economy of Cozumel grow and develop. Long gone are the days when the only nightlife for gringos was at Carlos n Charlie's or Joe's.
Those were simple times back when everyone of walking age gathered on Sunday night in the downtown plaza and the main places for gringos to eat were La Choza, Capi Navigante and Ernesto's Fajita Factory.
Now, each year new hotels and condos are completed, incoming international airline flights multiply and cruise ship arrival numbers continue to grow. As a result, the number of tourism related businesses on Cozumel is constantly increasing as well. There are simply so many choices these days that it can be frustrating when trying to plan a vacation to the island.
These days it's not so much about finding 'the good' and avoiding 'the bad' anymore in Cozumel because service and quality levels have continued to improve over the years in all sectors of tourism. Rather it is more about trying to ensure each traveler finds what suits their vacation needs and in the process gets to experience a part of this paradise we call Cozumel.
We know the island is destined to continue to change and develop and so shall we as a website in order to best serve travelers who want to visit Cozumel. So no matter if you intend to visit Cozumel for just a day, a few weeks, live here part time or full time, it's certain there is a section of Insider created just for you!
Cozumel Insider is the reliable resource of choice for complete, accurate information about the entire island and surrounding areas.
What Makes Us Different from Other Sites? |
Most importantly, we actually live and work right here on the island. Since we do live here on the island and have for many years, we know lots of folks and we know how things tend to work around here. So Cozumel Insider is our mechanism to try to get travelers the information they need to make the best choices when planning their vacations to Cozumel and then deciding what to do once here. We try to share what we know and what we have learned over the years in order to save travelers time and to minimize their worries.
In the process of providing a general base of knowledge of the island, Cozumel Insider tries to highlight local businesses and services that we personally recommend because we have first-hand knowledge and experience doing business with them. In many cases, the merchants we feature are known only to locals and cannot be found on the waterfront or in any of the cruise ship shopping malls.
Our new design and expanded topics are a reflection of Cozumel Insider's need to grow and share our knowledge of the island as it comes to us. We are very pleased to be featured in Frommer's Cruise Tour Book . This lets us expand our visitors and promote what a great community we have here on this wonderful island!
A Quick Word About Our Advertisers |
For over 5 years, Cozumel Insider did not solicit or accept local business advertisers but instead maintained the website purely with commissions earned from tours and accommodations booked by travelers. But costs have increased and the website continues to grow so paid advertising from local businesses is part of our website maintenance strategy now.
So if you enjoy the Cozumel Insider website, find its information useful and want the site to stay online, please ~
1) Patronize the businesses we feature and advise you found them on INSIDER
as this lets them know advertising with us is a good investment!
2) Bookmark and use this website as often as possible for your tours, lodging &
travel reservations.
3) Scroll to the top of this page and SUBSCRIBE to our Monthly Cozumel Travel Talk Bulletin
as this a great way to learn more about the island and the local tourism industry
advertisers who support our website!
Also, in 2006, Cozumel Insider began displaying the GOOGLE text ad bar at the bottom of each page as well as block ads from various advertisers to help defray website costs. Every click helps so please click through on those ads and check out the products being offered. Hopefully they will be something of use or value in planning a future Cozumel vacation!

Thanks Sherri, we like to do business with people who care about what they are doing and not just out for money! R. McGough ~ U.S.A.

Hello, I will visit the island next weekend. I just want to thank you and your staff who make this website, because I've been checking a lot of websites, even those Trip Advisor, and yours has been much more useful to plan this trip. Specially because it has links to official websites from local beaches, tips about prices and ways to get somewhere. Good job! I'll write again to tell you about the experience. C. Quijano (Feb. 2015) ~ Mexico

Sherri, I was browsing Cozumel Websites the last few days. I came across yours. I have never found a website so detailed to a destination in my life! You supply all the information a traveler could ever want!
You give us how to get there, what to do while we are there, where to stay, how to travel, what to do if we get sick, where to eat, and it just goes on and on!
Thank you for taking the time that you spent in making this my new favorite site!
I wish every vacation destination had a site like this! BRAVO! Jim Piere ~ Simi Valley CA 93063

Thank you so much for all your help! We took you tour to Chitchen-Itza in june. We were the couple that missed the tour because we did not get the wake up call. Because you went the extra mile with us (by finding us a tour operator that would honor our voucher the next day) I am extremely greatful. it certainly made our vacation. I will DEFINITELY recommend your website COZUMELINSIDER to anybody who will listen. thanks again! F. Escobar ~ not given

Thanks for such great attention to helping the process. I was struggling with feeling confident in ordering on Thrifty, Budget, Dollar or Avis web sites for Cozumel. Your site provide clarity in understanding the piers and providing confidence in how to pick-up the car at the location we would most likely be docking. Thank you for that. I look forward to having transportation near at hand for myself and my parents. R. Taylor (December 2015) ~ Laguna Niguel, CA USA
