For many years Alejandro Moguel worked in the wholesale seafood business supplying restaurants and hotels with quality seafood products. He developed his knowledge of freshness and quality and became a seafood expert to those who relied upon him for good seafood products.

Then in 1999, Alejandro decided to turn his passion for work into his own restaurant and established Conchita del Caribe. Having grown over the years from a staff of 6 to 22, Conchita is now open in their new, expanded location. This new location has a spacious seating area as well as a seperate waiting area with chairs for "take out" orders.

Recommended by an Insider!Even though the restaurant has grown over the years, here at Conchita, the owners themselves carefully select all of the fresh seafood that will be prepared each day for patrons. Throughout the day as guests come and go, they can always count on having the personal attention and service of the owners, Ms. Conchita and Mr. Alejandro, along with their suberb chef and wait staff.

The attention to quality and freshness along with excellent personal service make this restaurant a popular favorite of many locals. As a traditional family style "seafood cocktelerķa," Conchita del Caribe is the kind of place where everyone feels comfortable. Everyone from a Governor (Felix Canto) to just regular "town folk" feel welcome when they stop in to have a bite of fresh, quality seafood.

Tourists have also begun to discover the charm of Conchita for eating quality seafood so menus are also provided in English now. So Ms. Conchita and Mr. Alejandro extend a personal invitation to Cozumel vacation visitors to stop by this comfortable "locals" place and enjoy the experience of eating fresh, quality seafood prepared just right.

The best value priced item offered at Conchita is the "whole fried fish." If you select this option, be sure to go up to the kitchen counter area with the waiter and select the fresh fish you want. By the counter there will be a cooler packed with ice and various fish. Once you select the type and size you want, the chef will then weigh it and prepare it to your specifications ~ grilled or fried. If you enjoy garlic, ask for "mojo de ajo" no matter if you want it fried or grilled. This means they will "smother it with garlic" as it cooks. The charred garlic bits add a delicious, light flavor to an already tasty fish!
