In the Cozumel Dolphin Encounter, the focus is on allowing everyone to enjoy having a high degree of contact with the dolphins while at the same time the trainers will teach you about these amazing animals. Nothing compares to being up close and personal with a dolphin in order to make an impact as to how important it is to conserve our marine life and oceans.
Your Dolphin Encounter adventure takes place in Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park (open at 9:00am) and will start with a short educational orientation with a Dolphin Trainer where you will learn a little about the dolphin anatomy and some of its special features and then get into the WATER with the dolphins!
You will enter the water by going down a set of stairs from the elevated dock onto a submerged platform where you will remain for 25 - 30 minutes in waist-deep water. The Dolphin Encounter starts with a kiss from an Atlantic-Bottle nosed dolphin that will be captured forever by a professional photographer and can be purchased afterward. The program will continue with a Swim-by, where you will get the chance to touch and pet the dolphins, a chance to learn about the anatomy of the dolphin and then on to some very special selected dolphin behaviors. The program is completed by giving each guest a chance to have some good quality time with the dolphin where you can ask the trainer any questions you may have about the dolphin and their life in the sea.
Dolphins are very special marine animals who touch the hearts of those who interact with them both in captivity and in the wild. Of course it is always better to let marine life live free in their own world, but participating in and learning about the dolphins in these activities serves to promote marine and ocean conservation.
Dolphin Discovery Cozumel is located in Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park. As well as offering world class diving and snorkeling from a pristine beach, this beautiful park houses a variety of birds, the sea lion show, a botanical garden, reproductions of famous archeological sites, a typical Mayan village, an underground river, a tropical lagoon teeming with brightly colored tropical fish, restaurants and bars as well as a dive shop and Sea Trek helmet diving. So you will definitely want to allow time to enjoy the park either before or after your dolphin activity. |

HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS:
Adult Rate = 4 ft 7 in (1.41 meters) & taller
Child Rate = 3 ft 3 in to 4 ft 7 in (1.01 to 1.40 meters)
Infant Rate = less than 3 ft 3 in (1.0 meter)
SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS:
Infants < 39 inches must participate with TWO (2) paying adults (per infant) as companions in the Dolphin Encounter activity.
Children 3 ft 3 in - 3 ft 11 in (1.0 - 1.20 meters) must participate with ONE (1) paying adult (per child) as companions in the Dolphin Encounter activity.
Anyone 4 ft 0 in (1.21 meters) and taller may swim on their own alone in the Dolphin Encounter activity.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Pregnant women may not participate in any dolphin activities.
Pregnant women may not participate in any of the dolphin or sea lion programs.
All dolphin activities are safe and interactive but require physical involvement by participants.
Participants should be in good general health and able to understand and follow directions as given by the dolphin trainers.
Those who have undergone a recent surgery or suffer from any condition that may limit them physically (i.e. back surgery) should check with their physician before proceeding to make a reservation.
Life vests are provided and mandatory for every participant.
For security reasons, the use cameras in the water is not allowed - professional photos will be available for sale

Two friends and I booked the dolphin swim AND got the manatee encounter for 15 minutes for thru Cozumel Insider. The manatee was FREE. The price, including the park, was only $88 when booked in advance. The park fee alone is $21...that's $77 PP for both a dolphin swim with about 11 others, incl. 4 children, AND the manatee. Our party of 3 were the only ones to get the manatee and she was a highlight of our trip. We got to feed her lettuce for almost 15 minutes as the guide explained her life to us. My daughter, 13 did the dolphin swim and it was the best time of her life.. up close and personal with scarlet.. the pictures were beautiful and the video wonderful.. this was a once in a life time event that she will remember for her entire life... well worth the 99.00 and the additional 75.00 for pics and video coverage.. if you can afford to do this, this is not to be missed.. it was the highlight of the entire vacation... go and have fun, well worth the cost and a lot of fun to be had. WONDERFUL TIME....

My family loved the Dolphin Swim! A once in a lifetime experience. My youngest wasn't supposed to be tall enough to do the swim but they let her do it anyway, with the help of one of their staff. I appreciated that and the kids were all smiles the whole time. The photos they took were great and we bought them - just be sure to bargain down the price! :) S.
