PalMar Snorkel Beach Club & Patas y Alas Butterfly Sanctuary
Looking to avoid the mobs of the other big cruiser beaches and really relax on your next island visit? Then we invite you to join us and our staff at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club, located in the Dzul Ha Reef, for a nice, quiet and relaxing day in Cozumel. These days it seems like every beach club in Cozumel is so packed with tourists that visitors are often wanting and searching for a less crowded alternative. If you prefer a less chaotic and more personalized environment when visiting Cozumel, then our quiet and quaint PalMar Snorkel Beach Club will be the perfect spot for you and your group to come spend the day! We really are the "Best Kept Secret in Cozumel" that many taxis claim doesn't even exist!!!.
PalMar Snorkel Beach Club is located just a mile or so south of downtown San Miguel and is enclosed with walls, fences and gates on all sides. PalMar sits in front of a 10,000 square foot private beachside residence and provides a unique feeling of a more home-style experience. Inside our walls you will find a freshwater swimming pool (great for novice snorkelers to practice their snorkeling techniques) with jetted spa area, showers, rinse tanks, restrooms and lockers as well as snorkel equipment gear (mask, snorkel and fins) and vests for rent. Surrounding the pool and jetted spa (not heated) area is a large decked area with plenty of loungers, chairs and tables for your relaxation pleasure! The grounds inside feature both sunlit areas to soak up our "Caribbean Paradise" rays and also natural shady areas from the numerous trees for those needing to cool off from the sun..
You will also find our friendly and helpful staff ready to provide you and your group everything you need to make your stay at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club a wonderful experience. You will find a quaint snack bar area where you will be able to purchase tasty freshly made-to-order snacks (guacamole, pico de gallo, ceviche, quesadillas, etc.) and a nice selection of beverages (bottled water, soda, beer and a selection of tropical mixed drinks). Our staff is always more than happy to make you a tasty snack or whip up some liquid refreshment during your time here at PalMar Beach SNorkel Club!
PalMar's Beach and Ocean area is just a few steps outside our gates where you will see our beach area surrounded by a retaining wall filled with sand, palm trees, potted plants, loungers, tables and chairs for any guests that prefer a waterfront, beachside day in paradise There are no crazy jet skis buzzing around constantly nor massive water mountains to scale out front at PalMar Snorkel Beach Club. Instead, we invite you to enjoy a relaxing day lounging on our beach under our palm trees! If you want to snorkel and swim in our world famous Dzul Ha Reef, you will find an abundance of incredible coral reefs, colorful fish and marine life here at PalMar! The beach-entry is a few steps down from our beach area directly into the pristine waters of the Caribbean. Do not forget to bring your underwater camera to snap pics of your time underwater! Plus our dedicated staff will keep a watch out for you on the beach in order to keep the drinks and snacks coming as you need them!

Another fantastic visit to the PalMar Snorkel Beach Club. The Beach Club is a real bargain and includes use of the private pool, touring the Butterfly Sanctuary, and using the beach area on the world-famous reef (Bart and Tiff had a great time snorkeling and were delighted to see many colorful fish near the reef). Day use tickets even include 2 free drinks. The food is excellent as we enjoyed guacamole, ceviche, and chicken enchiladas, all terrific examples of great local food (I believe I ate my weight in ceviche and guacamole). Best of all is the sweet service offered by the employees! Iit’s a perfect balance of the staff being humble and grateful for the income we generate, and us being grateful and humbled by the beautiful surroundings and the grace of the local folks. I so enjoyed our visit! We're thinking about checking out the IslaMar Vacation Villas next. V. Hallenbeck - November 2017 ~ Winston-Salem, NC USA
(02/17/2019) - Found this spot on the web: actually the garden of a villa with pool, snack facility, private beach, lockers and possibility to rent snorkel gear. Normal entrance fee starts at $14. As it was too windy to snorkel, we were invited to relax at their premises for free and we were the only ones. Super relaxing. Cold drinks, nice people to chat with, delicious nachos and on top of that we met Sherri, the owner of the villa and moderator of www.cozumelinsider.com with a lot of info about Cozumel, where to stay, etc. Sherri and staff, thanks for the great day from your friends from the Netherlands. LITTLE PARADISE - We arranged a package tour for our large group (14 people) that included an afternoon here (it might have been through the proprietor). Next to a large hotel and a large bar, this is a quiet little oasis. A beautiful pool and shady gardens, with lots of seating are right across the street from the sea. Drinks, delicious food (great guacamole) and very helpful and friendly service. The people were extremely nice helping us into the sea to snorkel. There really isn't a beach here, it is very rocky, so they put out mats to make it easier for us to walk into the water. They stood by and helped us in and out, they even practically carried my 86 year old grandmother in, out, and brought a chair down for her to sit in. Snorkel, mask and flipper rentals are $12 (other places were quoted at $40+). There are some lounge chairs on a sandy area overlooking the sea so those who weren't snorkeling could sit comfortably and watch. The snorkeling was great, lots of sea creatures to admire. Free Wi-Fi. Since it is a small place, none of the cab drivers at the port (we were getting off a cruise ship) knew where it was. Ask for The Money Club and it is just before it, right next door. J. Most relaxing day out of 8 on the island was at PalMar Beach Club! Snorkeling was awesome, staff was great, and we enjoyed meeting the owners! B. Wright/L. Miller - Apr 2017 ~ Allen, TX USA
Sherri, We just returned after a great cruise on the Carnival Holiday. We took a taxi from the cruise pier to Palmar Estate Beach Club and spent about 1/2 a day at your beautiful place. We toured the butterfly sanctuary with your wonderful guide who was informative and very gracious. I also spent quite a bit of time talking to Juan and he was delightful. We relaxed, ate chips and salsa, drank pina coladas and soaked in the sun. What a delightful place you have and a wonderful staff that made our visit great. Thanks and if we get a chance to recommend your place to others we will surely do that.
PS: Your website warned us that the taxi drivers may not be too helpful when asked to go to Palmar Estates and you were correct. After asking 3 drivers who all sort of turned up their noses at us and acted like they had never heard of your place or the butterfly sanctuary we found one that would listen. I told him it was between Hotel Presidente & Fiesta Americana and he said OK. Anyway we got there in only about 6-8 minutes from the pier. Dale and Cathy Carlson ~ Louisville, KY USA
