This tiny little jewel of a place made our trip to Cozumel so memorable and is perfect for a cruise ship passenger. It is a quick and inexpensive taxi-ride from either port used by the cruise ships (10 minutes or less). The stately well-maintained estate, grounds, and pool are gorgeous. Just a few steps away, across the street is the private beach owned by PalMar right on the Dzul Ha reef area. I'm not a diver, but even with just my goggles, I saw dozens of fish within just a few feet of the beach. We booked this an affordable excursion and we got so much more than we expected! We arrived early and sat on the private beach reading and enjoying the view. Very soon, the caretaker came over to invite us in, even though we were early. This sweet gesture typified the excellent service we received throughout our stay.

The entry fee included two drink coupons and we enjoyed diet sodas with a meal of chicken quesadillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and chips. The fare was simple (as the best food always is) and excellent. We also ordered tasty frozen cocktails (mango margarita and piña colada), and we definitely felt like "spoiled girls" as we swam, relaxed, and enjoyed delicious food with a view of the ocean.

When it was time for us to go, one of the employees hailed a taxi for us and getting back to the cruise port was quick and easy. I am delighted to give the PalMar Small Beach Club five stars for excellent service and a lovely facility. V. Hallenbeck - October 2015 ~ Winston-Salem, NC USA

Sherri, We had the most wonderful time with you in May! You and your staff made our weekend there in Cozumel with your great hospitality. The grounds are beautiful, food was great and the snorkeling ~ well my group just could not get enough and were amazed by the tropical sealife there off your beach. We look so much forward to coming back and seeing you again very soon. Tell the staff thanks again and say hello to the family for us as well. Take care:0) ....Happy Cruise Passenger J. Sherri, We just returned after a great cruise on the Carnival Holiday. We took a taxi from the cruise pier to Palmar Estate Beach Club and spent about 1/2 a day at your beautiful place. We toured the butterfly sanctuary with your wonderful guide who was informative and very gracious. I also spent quite a bit of time talking to Juan and he was delightful. We relaxed, ate chips and salsa, drank pina coladas and soaked in the sun. What a delightful place you have and a wonderful staff that made our visit great. Thanks and if we get a chance to recommend your place to others we will surely do that.

PS: Your website warned us that the taxi drivers may not be too helpful when asked to go to Palmar Estates and you were correct. After asking 3 drivers who all sort of turned up their noses at us and acted like they had never heard of your place or the butterfly sanctuary we found one that would listen. I told him it was between Hotel Presidente & Fiesta Americana and he said OK. Anyway we got there in only about 6-8 minutes from the pier. Dale and Cathy Carlson ~ Louisville, KY USA

Just finished cruise to Cozumel 5/23/2015. I had looked at info about PalMar Estate before going but did not make decision to go until the day our ship ported in Cozumel. I was with a small group of 4 and it was hard to communicate with my group prior to the trip. We went downtown first and when that got old real quick, I reminded the group of this location. It was still hard to get approval by everyone. I finally said, "we are taking a chance and going". We got a taxi (the taxi drivers act like they have never heard of it, but we took the information from this site which includes directions). We are so glad we went, it was the highlight of our cruise. The bathroom was clean, the employees were so accommodating, it was away from tourist crowds and the snorkeling was terrific. Only $13 (which includes a couple of beers) each to use their facility and beach. Enrique was an employee there who made us the best Pico de Gallo and guacamole I have ever had and served us on the beach. He was so sweet, we would have put him in our pocket and taken him back to Texas with us if we could. We would go there again definitely! G. Coldwell-May 2015 ~ Dallas, TX USA

I considered your advice to drop by & remembered reading that most public beaches get really crowded if there are a lot of cruise ships in port. There were 7 ships in Cozumel on Saturday & I was prepared, got off the ship first thing at 9 with husband and snorkel gear in tow & inquired about taxi rates. I was a little apprehensive when the taxi organizer didn't know where Palmar was but I had your directions & coupon printed out so I told them it was between the two hotels and mentioned the beach name & all was well. I then realized it was a blessing for them not to know where I was going - that had to mean it wouldn't be too popular/crowded!

I believe we met your husband Mauricio? He was very nice and made us feel very comfortable, showed us to a locker and we were off across the street. A bit hard to get in the water with all the rocks (this is what makes the water so clear!) but it was beautiful & shallow snorkeling with lots of neat corral - and 2 different 2 ft. barracudas guarded the shore.

When we came back we ordered guacamole and chips as well as a mango and pina colada daiquiri. It was obvious it was all just prepared and really fresh - best guacamole I've ever had, the chips were fresh, and the shakes were delicious. In summary, your location was beautiful, thank you for opening your home as a beach club so we could get away from the crowds, we felt so special! Mauricio was as good a host as he was a chef! We'll definitely be recommending Palmar! G. Nielsen ~ Cruise Passenger
