My family and I (my husband and two boys, ages 9 and 6) were on a Disney cruise last week. During our stop over in Cozumel we spent a few hours at PalMar Beach Club. I had booked it beforehand with lots of help from Martin. I followed his instructions and arrived at PalMar without any trouble at all, for a $10 taxi fair. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with us, with it being a drizzly, cloudy, windy day. We had planned on snorkeling but the water was too rough. We relaxed by the pool and had some delicious snacks and drinks. It was very quiet and definitely away from the congested tourist areas and cruise crowd. The staff at PalMar were very, very friendly. The beach area was very nice and looked like it would have been a fantastic place to spend a nice sunny day. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to spend a quiet relaxing day in Cozumel. If we are back in the area we will visit again. Thank you for your hospitality! Spent a wonderful day at the family owned resort. Great food, clean, safe, nice pool and you walk across the street to the beach. Great snorkeling and clean beach area. Good value and inexpensive Day excursion, taxi from port was $11.00 each way. A. Young - August 2015 ~ Boynton Beach, FL USA
I considered your advice to drop by & remembered reading that most public beaches get really crowded if there are a lot of cruise ships in port. There were 7 ships in Cozumel on Saturday & I was prepared, got off the ship first thing at 9 with husband and snorkel gear in tow & inquired about taxi rates. I was a little apprehensive when the taxi organizer didn't know where Palmar was but I had your directions & coupon printed out so I told them it was between the two hotels and mentioned the beach name & all was well. I then realized it was a blessing for them not to know where I was going - that had to mean it wouldn't be too popular/crowded!
I believe we met your husband Mauricio? He was very nice and made us feel very comfortable, showed us to a locker and we were off across the street. A bit hard to get in the water with all the rocks (this is what makes the water so clear!) but it was beautiful & shallow snorkeling with lots of neat corral - and 2 different 2 ft. barracudas guarded the shore.
When we came back we ordered guacamole and chips as well as a mango and pina colada daiquiri. It was obvious it was all just prepared and really fresh - best guacamole I've ever had, the chips were fresh, and the shakes were delicious. In summary, your location was beautiful, thank you for opening your home as a beach club so we could get away from the crowds, we felt so special! Mauricio was as good a host as he was a chef! We'll definitely be recommending Palmar! G. Nielsen ~ Cruise Passenger
Great snorkeling, peaceful day by the pool, and steps away from the beach. Price included a couple drinks (water, soda or beer).....and PRIVACY. Close to the Money Bar for those that also want noise...:) Sherri is a delight and I was honored to be her guest that day. Oh...the nachos were great! Thanks Sherri. We will be back next year!!!!!!! Just finished cruise to Cozumel 5/23/2015. I had looked at info about PalMar Estate before going but did not make decision to go until the day our ship ported in Cozumel. I was with a small group of 4 and it was hard to communicate with my group prior to the trip. We went downtown first and when that got old real quick, I reminded the group of this location. It was still hard to get approval by everyone. I finally said, "we are taking a chance and going". We got a taxi (the taxi drivers act like they have never heard of it, but we took the information from this site which includes directions). We are so glad we went, it was the highlight of our cruise. The bathroom was clean, the employees were so accommodating, it was away from tourist crowds and the snorkeling was terrific. Only $13 (which includes a couple of beers) each to use their facility and beach. Enrique was an employee there who made us the best Pico de Gallo and guacamole I have ever had and served us on the beach. He was so sweet, we would have put him in our pocket and taken him back to Texas with us if we could. We would go there again definitely! G. Coldwell-May 2015 ~ Dallas, TX USA
