A Personal Note from Sherri "Time to Celebrate!"
Sherri Davis - Owner/Operator CozumelInsiderSo the excitement of Cozumel Carnaval fills the air these days on the island and it's turning into quite a spectacular competition for King & Queen of Carnaval 2012! I love this time of year on the island with the cool, fresh breezes that winter brings us from the north and the long, black nights filled with stars that cover the sky above my balcony. Then to hear the music of Carnaval drifting on the night air ~ music that fills my head with brilliant images of Carnavaleros dancing 'til dawn and my heart with the warmth of friendship and good times over the years that Carnaval always brings. Join us for Cozumel Carnaval and feel the love of the island in YOUR heart! ~ See you soon!

December 20, 2011

As we prepare this week for Christmas and officially kicking off the holidays, it seems Mauricio and I will celebrate a joyous season this year filled with more laughter, cheer and festivity than 2011 afforded us. It’s now official and nice to finally be exonerated of all the false criminal charges fabricated against us. Federal court judges decided in our favor (granted us amparos) in ALL cases. As we said all along: this NEVER WAS a CRIMINAL matter but rather a CIVIL dispute among two Mexican corporations. The use of criminal proceedings against us in these circumstances went well beyond a blow below the belt. A question for you to ponder: why would someone resort to having us unjustifiably jailed and prosecuted criminally for a civil dispute if, as they claim, the law is on their side?

I told you in June of 2010 that I would continue to share with you all of what was happening in our world while these matters were resolved. But frankly, that became rather impossible after our neighbor’s representative and lawyer made his open threats to everyone in a public online BB forum. He was clearly agitated when he wrote that ominous letter and posted it out there to live in cyberspace forever, considering he failed to even get right some basic facts about the situation. The inaccuracies in his post don’t make much of a difference to me, as I knew all along that we would eventually be cleared and vindicated.

In retrospect, I’m glad he posted his letter in ENGLISH in an online BB forum because the letter and threatening tone speak volumes about the kind of people we have had to deal with throughout this ordeal. Just like the physical and emotional duress we had to endure throughout an illegal arrest, jailing and bogus criminal proceedings, the cyber letter will live on for years as a testament to what occurred last year in Cozumel ~ all instigated and carried out in the name of greed. It’s ironic how some of the wealthiest people on the planet feel they are entitled and have the right to injure, intimidate and take from others not so fortunate. If my legitimate interests were such a bother to them, a simple offer to buy me out would have sufficed.

We will have to figure out how to deal with these malicious prosecutions, but in the meantime rest assured that we will continue moving forward with our efforts to showcase and protect Cozumel’s natural beauty and resources, including the butterfly sanctuary area at PalMar.

Happy New Year from Cozumelinsider! Most importantly, we can now celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings and because, notwithstanding the hardship, these trials and tribulations have made us stronger. THANK YOU to all of you who continually emailed, phoned and texted your messages of support and love to us throughout this ordeal – it meant the world to our wellbeing this past year and half! I sincerely wish for ALL of you the most wonderful holiday season and the happiest of New Years!

Now ~ Let’s Party!

Oh...and I forgot ~
to dedicate this to my lovely neighbors to ponder their Cozumel legacy ~ ?what will yours be?

"If a man walks in the woods for the love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer; but if he spends his whole day as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is esteemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. ~ Henry David Thoreau ~

Just wanted to thank COZUMELINSIDER for getting us booked for our activities while we were in Cozumel. The dolphin swim was fantastic! I'd do it again in a minute. We didn't get to do the SNUBA diving ..... we ended up doing the Helmet dive instead for the same price. We plan on visiting Cozumel again possibly next year and will be contacting you to book some excursions prior to our vacation. We saved a significant amount of money booking the excursions through COZUMELINSIDER instead of the cruise line. Thanks again! S.Forgette and G Wichtowski ~ Not Given

What a great Experience!!! We booked our excursions through this website with a slight bit of apprehension. We figured it would be safer to book through our cruise ship since this was our first time going to Cozumel. Boy am I so thankful we didn't. Our cruise ship (which we thoroughly enjoyed) had many excursions organized with tons of people in each excursion. By booking through INSIDER we were definitely given smaller groups to be with. We did the Atlantis Submarine excursion and we saved almost 100 dollars right there!!! We also booked a Resort Scuba with Eagle Ray Divers. We had 1-on-1 attention with Antonio (the owner), our own boat to go out on, and got personalized attention with the lesson/dive. I know if we had booked on the cruise ship there probably would've been many other people ...
Also, we originally booked a car rental for that Saturday morning. Jacqueline @ Cozumel Insider, called us at home prior to our cruise to inform us of some minor scheduling changes. She then suggested that the rental car may not be neccessary due to our number of excursions and our limited time. Due to her advice we cancelled our car rental which was the wise thing to do. This shows that this company has a lot of integrity and is not out there just to make a buck on the unsuspecting tourist. Next year we will definitely book through Cozumel Insider, we will recommend this company to all our friends, and we plan on booking with Antonio for more scuba next time!!!! I want to take a moment to thank you at COZUMELINSIDER for all of your help. This is the first time I have ever booked activities such as these online and was very nervous about how it all worked. You took the time to answer all of my questions and even followed upwith a phone call to make sure you had all the information you needed to book the perfect vacation fun for my family. Thanks so much for making this a great experience! I can hardly wait to get there and enjoy all of these wonderful things! S. Daggett ~ Woodland Park, CO

My wife and I are so pleased to have discovered your site. We fell in love with Cozumel the first time we visited. Our plans are to retire in Cozumel, your site will help us to grow in our knowledge of the island and hopefully begin our journey of protecting the islands unique heritage.
Thank you for your hard work, Nathan & Marcy Havner ~ Cheyenne Wyoming USA
