A Personal Note from Sherri "On the Road Again!"
Well I must say that Carnaval 2010 was an absolute blast for all of us who live here despite the very low tourism turnout this year. The parade nights were fresh and breezy...one night was just downright chilly...so that helped all of us aboard the parade floats bear the heat of the bright lights a bit better. And of course the big excitement came on the final parade night as fireworks from one of the floats sparked a fire of Senior Frog´s palapa rooftops. The good news of course is that no one was injured and the parade continued after a short 40 minute interruption. The float I was on had to stop just in front of Frogs so we were right in the middle of it.
If I were a citizen of this fine country and therefore working beneath the protection of some speech liberties, I would make a comment about how irresponsible it was for City officials and the department of Public Safety to allow fireworks to be shot off during the parade in the middle of thousands of people. And I might also question how it is that every float had to pay for a permit and meet certain safety standards....yet no one had the nerve to apply those same standards to the very parade floats that the City paid for with taxpayer money. It was after all, a City sponsored float carrying the PRI candiates for the upcoming elections who shot off the fireworks there in front of Frogs in order to make a big splash as they passed in front of the television cameras.
But hey, since I`m just a guest in this country I suppose I´ll just be silent and sit here like a toad frog in the rain...batting my eyes as I read the official statement released by the department of Public Safety which says the cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.
So needless to say the burning of Juan Carnaval on Wednesday night to close Carnaval 2010 was sort of anti-climatic! :-) Shortly thereafter, I took off for some travel time in the interior of Mexico which is what I am doing now. Lots of fun and many more stories/ adventures gathered to share with you. Soon.

Hello: Sorry about all the calls and e-mails yesterday ~ it appears that we had a problem with yahoo email and receiving your confirmations. But I had your staff send the confirmations to my work e-mail and all is good. Your staff was very helpful, customer service friendly and courteous and I think your agency is great! My wife is a travel/booking agent and she agrees with me and plans to use your services in the future to book excursions for her clients. Thanks again and have a good day; Michael Weinberger ~ not given

My family and I have returned to Cozumel many times - it's a favorite destination and we have watched it change over the past 20 years. The Cozumel Insider is a great publication - it's a wonderful way to keep up with the news about one of our favorite islands. We are preparing to visit again this August and the Insider has shown us some different activities to try, as well as helped to bring us up to date with local political and ecological happenings. We're delighted to see the interest in wildlife conservation throughout the area. Keep up the good work on this terrific site. D. McClean ~ unknown

We will be leaving tommorrow for 2 week stay at Islamar villas and diving with Dive Paradise. All of this along with a car rental was booked through you guys. Not only did you have a professional attitude through all the e-mails in booking the original dates but at the last minute I extended my stay. You and your staff were especially kind through all of this. You got the car extended and went way out of your way to make sure everything was taken care of, not to mention letting me borrow your personal roller bag to go to the market. You extended everything with ease and you are a great asset to Cozumel and Mexico. This will be my 12 th trip and I will never work with anyone else from now on. Thank you Sherri. Jack J. What a great Experience!!! We booked our excursions through this website with a slight bit of apprehension. We figured it would be safer to book through our cruise ship since this was our first time going to Cozumel. Boy am I so thankful we didn't. Our cruise ship (which we thoroughly enjoyed) had many excursions organized with tons of people in each excursion. By booking through INSIDER we were definitely given smaller groups to be with. We did the Atlantis Submarine excursion and we saved almost 100 dollars right there!!! We also booked a Resort Scuba with Eagle Ray Divers. We had 1-on-1 attention with Antonio (the owner), our own boat to go out on, and got personalized attention with the lesson/dive. I know if we had booked on the cruise ship there probably would've been many other people ... Also, we originally booked a car rental for that Saturday morning. Jacqueline @ Cozumel Insider, called us at home prior to our cruise to inform us of some minor scheduling changes. She then suggested that the rental car may not be neccessary due to our number of excursions and our limited time. Due to her advice we cancelled our car rental which was the wise thing to do. This shows that this company has a lot of integrity and is not out there just to make a buck on the unsuspecting tourist. Next year we will definitely book through Cozumel Insider, we will recommend this company to all our friends, and we plan on booking with Antonio for more scuba next time!!!! We just got back from Cozumel last week and I'd like to thank you for answering all my questions and for setting us up on the Fury Snorkeling & Beach Party Tour and the van from Budget. This was the 4th time visiting the island and the 1st time that I didn't have the first bit of trouble with booking something online. Your service was great and I will be sure and book with you on my next trip. Thanks again! Danny Neal ~ Marshall TX
