A Personal Note from Sherri "On the Road Again!"
Sherri Davis - Owner/Operator CozumelInsiderWell I must say that Carnaval 2010 was an absolute blast for all of us who live here despite the very low tourism turnout this year. The parade nights were fresh and breezy...one night was just downright chilly...so that helped all of us aboard the parade floats bear the heat of the bright lights a bit better. And of course the big excitement came on the final parade night as fireworks from one of the floats sparked a fire of Senior Frog´s palapa rooftops. The good news of course is that no one was injured and the parade continued after a short 40 minute interruption. The float I was on had to stop just in front of Frogs so we were right in the middle of it.

If I were a citizen of this fine country and therefore working beneath the protection of some speech liberties, I would make a comment about how irresponsible it was for City officials and the department of Public Safety to allow fireworks to be shot off during the parade in the middle of thousands of people. And I might also question how it is that every float had to pay for a permit and meet certain safety standards....yet no one had the nerve to apply those same standards to the very parade floats that the City paid for with taxpayer money. It was after all, a City sponsored float carrying the PRI candiates for the upcoming elections who shot off the fireworks there in front of Frogs in order to make a big splash as they passed in front of the television cameras.

But hey, since I`m just a guest in this country I suppose I´ll just be silent and sit here like a toad frog in the rain...batting my eyes as I read the official statement released by the department of Public Safety which says the cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.

So needless to say the burning of Juan Carnaval on Wednesday night to close Carnaval 2010 was sort of anti-climatic! :-) Shortly thereafter, I took off for some travel time in the interior of Mexico which is what I am doing now. Lots of fun and many more stories/ adventures gathered to share with you. Soon.

We just got back from Cozumel last week and I'd like to thank you for answering all my questions and for setting us up on the Fury Snorkeling & Beach Party Tour and the van from Budget. This was the 4th time visiting the island and the 1st time that I didn't have the first bit of trouble with booking something online. Your service was great and I will be sure and book with you on my next trip. Thanks again! Danny Neal ~ Marshall TX

Hello, I want to let you know that I visit your website all the time! I love it, so much information. I used you as a resource when I came to Cozumel for the first time about 2 years ago. Although my soon-to-be wife was there before, I needed to do some of my own homework. As for her, she and I will be getting married on June 22 at Hotel Cozumel and we are both really excited about it. I am so happy that you are able to put this website together for people like us who love Cozumel and can't be there as much as we want to be. Thanks again! John DeMaio ~ Milford, CT, USA

Dear Sherri,
Our family met you just a week ago when we arrived in Cozumel, a little overwhelmed and in need of a hotel. You gave us great suggestions and we had a lovely week at Hotel Cozumel. I wanted to write and thank you for all your time and consideration. We also followed your beach suggestions and had wonderful snorkeling. Thank you, Sherri, for taking the time with us. And thank you for your wonderful website. We wish you the very best in the New Year and always. Foley Family ~ Minnesota

Derrick and I had a great time. We got our fill of diving. On the 4th day in fact, I was so tuckered out, I didn't think I would make it, but we persevered and did all 15 tanks of your ISLAMAR/DIVE PARADISE Dive Package B! The break in the sun was exactly what the doctor ordered…..rest assured, you have my business in the future and I'm glad to have been lucky enough to have found someone who is renowned for their business acumen and operates with such respected integrity in the community. Thanks again for everything that you did Sherri! R. Dugan ~ Plano, TX

Sherri, my boss wants you to take down your webcam! It seems it is preventing me from getting any work done! I just stare at it all day. haha I will be there in two weeks. It's been since March since we spent a week there and I'm going through withdrawals. I hope Mezcalitos has the 'ritas ready for me. Jennifer ~ Louisiana
